Happy Holidays to You...

Hey there – Hope you all had a wonderful holiday filled with laughter and joy! I sure did – it was great to spend time with Rick’s side of the family including of course my grandson Madex (it was his first Christmas) …and did I tell you how adorable he is???

Anyway – things have been a little hectic lately as I’ve started a new job and have been spending a lot of time away from home in Arkansas (our soon to be new home state)! I am back in CA now for another week, and I have a lot of packing and purging to do! We’ll be moving to AR for 2 years, so now I have the daunting task of sorting out and deciding what to pack, purge, give away or store…NOT FUN!

I enjoyed taking a break from all things related to the move, to play with the new MLS line Winter Wonderland – I love the vintage whimsy of this line. I created a few Holiday cards, as well as an advent calendar using Counting Down from the Winter Wonderland line and an old picture frame. I wrote cute messages or coupons for treats on the back of each card. This is something I’ll keep for Madex when he gets a little older. Below are some photos of the cards and the advent calendar – thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your holiday!

MY LITTLE SHOEBOX & PUNKY SPROUTS Product Spotlight

At first I was a little intimidated by the Steam Punk’d album from Punky Sprouts, but then I realized it was perfect for a SPOOKY Halloween mini book. It was fun to use paint, paper and glimmer mist to cover the pages. On one of the cardboard pages I painted it, then peeled some back and used Glam for some sparkle. I used lots of Trick or Treat papers to create layers, and I cut out the border of the Scalloped Round Paper Itsy Bitsy Spider and created a ruffle with it. I also used nearly the entire sheet of Dimensional Roll Up flowers, as well as free form flowers using the B sides of Starry Night and Scaredy Cat! Thanks for looking!

Antique-ing in Alameda...a Wonderful Sunday!

Alameda Antique Faire…found such treasures…wonderful time catching up with my good friend Barb who I hardly see these days…so very thankful that she finally convinced me to go with her a few years ago (after months of trying)! The day started out so cold and rainy (well not really rain but a steady drizzle) that I actually had my hoodie on (yes – over my head) for the first few hours…of course I also ended up with a nice pink sun burn as it warmed up later in the day! Ran into the amazingly talented and always smiling Kerry Lynn Yeary, with her good friend Dina…visited with antiques dealer and furniture refinisher extraordinaire Michael and his wife Shelley…scored some beautiful lace (an abundance of it)…found some very cool frames…and incredibly and funky Parisian pillows and other treasures…I wanted to buy them all but showed a wee bit of restraint …actually the bulletin board was sold or I may have bought that too! Enjoyed a very delicious falafel salad with sweet potato fries from LibaFalafel (seriously the best falafel I have ever eaten)! All in all it was a wonderful Sunday...

WHERE DID JUNE GO?

I can't believe June is almost over!!! I thought I would share some more MLS goodness – my latest creations feature the Home Tweet Home line, and I created 6 different cards. I think my favorite two are the ones below:

Mostly because I love the bling, and the border and the little scallop cones on the first card (I used Glue Arts foam for some added height under the scallop flower and I used My Favorite Things Die-namics Dizzy Border die). And I just love the little kissing love birds on the second card – would make a cute anniversary card don’t you think? Anyhow – the rest of my cards are below for you to see. I had a lot of fun creating with the Home Tweet Home line! Thanks for looking!
